    Default Seed Head

Went to visit my stepson's fiance in Vancouver and on the way home decided to stop in at Van Dusen Gardens. First time I've been there and will definitely visit again.
Spotted this seed head, not sure what the species is, I'm sure they had it marked but I didn't copy it down. Let me know what you think.

Nice BG Roy and good DOF, I might take a little off the top. Is this a crop from the original?

I like the the picture and nice BG. Nice work for HH, often see folks use tripods or clamps for this sort of thing - well done. Exposure data works.

I agree with Jackie, maybe just a tad off the top - that my 2 cents.

Excellent Roy I had not though of the little crop from the top but does make a difference, it gives a slightly different proportion and makes the left look even better !!!

If anything might get rid of the brownish on the bottom right !!! Love the image !!!

Roy, Beautiful depth to this image. And another vote for a slice off the top. Your BG compliments your seed head nicely.

    Excellent Roy,
I like it as presented...very good color rendition, fine sharp details and the dark green background makes your subject pop...well done...

Hi Roy, I like this image and agree with the crop from the top suggestion. The BG is very well chosen and complimentary, the techs look very good, and you clearly have a steady hand. As for the identification, I've finally trained myself to shoot low-res jpegs of all ID signs so I don't have to write as many notes! Nice image!

Hi Roy....very nice image. the background color really sets off the reddish tones of the seedhead. Suprising dof at f4! I will add my vote for a crop off the top.

Thanks Jackie, this is a crop to take out an out of focus stem in the lower left corner.

Thanks Jeff. I wasn't really planning on going to this location so didn't have the tripod with me. I would have shot both ways if I had it with me.

Thank you Ron. The only identification tag I did take was on that identified a plant my father had misnamed. I plan on going back so I will remember to take ID shots.

Denise, I do too except for the fact the seeds turned green as well. They were black in "real" life.:)
