Came across this little guy yesterday at BomBay Hook Refuge. Can i crop this any better? suggestions
Is it sharp enough? Background too green ? upper ear restoration? All comments welcome!
Love this image About all I would do is sharpen the eye area just a bit more but not the rest of the image I'm not much into cloning but in this case would remove some of grass merging with the eye !!! Big Congrats on this one !!!!
I know that fox! Had the pleasure of photographing him (Yes, it was a "him") last year. I really like your composition and the pleasing color combination. I think that the top of his right ear may have been affected by your post processing? Looks a little smeared.
Hi Bob, What a super shot!! It is definitely sharp enough, and I wouldn't crop it differently. Very, very nice.
The cloned ear looks too transparent to me, not solid enough color out to the tip for my tastes, and the green looks a little too lime-colored for my liking too. Just to compare an alternative green, try this: select the background, and using Color Balance, take the Magenta/Green slider and set it to -20 for shadows, midtones, and highlights. Toggle the preview back and forth and see what you think. Play with the other two sliders too. This is just a quick and dirty comparison. That's my 2 cents!
Great capture!!
Very lovely composition and colours. Not sure what Ron is suggesting -to tone down the sat in the BG, maybe. Nice colours in the fox and simple BG. Well done.

Thanks again for all the encouragement and suggestions. They are much appreciated. With this repost, I toned the bg down a bit ( just -5) and cloned out some plant material merging a bit with the eye. I could not seem to do much with the ear.
Ron...Thanks for your very welcome suggestion on how to tone the background down. I will remember and use it in the future.
I am not sure the cloning around the eye helped. Could you maybe use the patch tool instead? As is, the cloned area lacks the noise of the area around it and just looks a bit strange. This is a dynamite image and I think better in the original, just because the of cloning job done.
