    Default Wood Sculpture

    Jungle Owlet - Glaucidium radiatum

Location : Kanha Tiger Reserve MP India

I have cloned some blurred leaves on top edge in this .. I have another version without the cloning and a different crop which you can look for comparison - Jungle Owlet (uncloned)

    EXIF : Canon 40D, Canon 300 f2.8 + 2x TC, f5.6, 1/500 sec, ISO 800, -0.3 Exp Comp (Center Weighted)

I just love the stare. Great comp, exposure, sharpness, background etc. etc.
Why did you remove the bottom of the trunk? I think the tree entering the frame from the bottom right corner looks good in the original. Just my opinion, I am not an expert here :-).

Pretty cool, I like the stare, unusual perch and BG and would only try to get some more details in the shadows.

Nice background and good eye contact. The composition works for me. I agree that opening of the shadows might help.

I lean toward your "uncloned version". I think it has even more of a sculptural feeling, agree that the leaves could go. Always nice to have an image that can be presented in several different ways.

Either way a very nice photo. My preference would be for uncloned version, as is. Really like the framing of the perch in both. Dave

Great composition. Prefer the first post although I am generally not a big fan of extensively editing images. But here it works. JR

Both versions are great, but I understand why you chosse to have the owl seemingly bigger in the frame and remove the leaves.

I like the un-cloned version best. Both are wonderful, but the leaves hold the top. Very well done.
