    This guy was hunting near the entrance of Bosque Del Apache one afternoon back in September. We made images for an hour and was eventually allowed to approach to within 30 feet or so. This one was made early on from within our car.

    Canon 20D
    1/2000th, AV, ISO 400
    Sigma 50 - 500 - 500mm @ f/6.3

    WB in ACR, cropped, slight mid tone levels & sharpened the eye in PS

    Hi Richard Have seen him often but never stopped to photograph Image seem tight in frame and oof grasses detract a bit I like the open beak intense expression Might also blur the bg a bit to make him pop out even more !!!!

    OK Alfred,

    here is the full frame and I quick masked, gaussian blurred the bg. The changeover might seem a little funky as I'm still learning to QM properly.

    Better?
