Going after the birds, again something else caught my eye.
Tiger Swallowtail? Close to full frame. I know, framed too tightly. Oh well.

I think the details of the butterfly are very good. I personally prefer to see the butterfly angled more towards you but understood that we may not always get that. The other thing that bothers me is the leave in front and to the right of the butterfly. Love the colors and the soft light.

Very nice view of the wings, although I'd prefer if the butterfly were facing you.
The vegetation on the left is very distracting.

Bill, I like the tight crop for this and the colors and details look very good. I agree w/ Fabs regarding the vegetation. Nicely done.

Thanks! I agree with the background distractions as well. It seems I certainly didn't do too well with self critique here, or I would have cloned those bad boys out! regards~Bill

That stuff on the left was the second thing I saw after the butterfly so it does need to go but excellent details on the insect and with a little additional canvas on top, right and bottom and less on the left I think you'd have a beautiful butterfly image.

Lovely detail in the butterfly, but as has been mentioned the vegetation on the left is a little distracting.
