The image looks great to me. Wonderful dof; perfect detail; smooth background. I'm just having difficulty with the head on perspective. I keep feeling I would like so see a slight angle and some body. I'm not sure this will make sense Alfred but I keep looking at that blade of dried grass and seeing it as the body.

    Hey Al,
Actually...I love the head on angle! My only comment or suggestion....push that Mark 3 to ISO 800.....and squeeze a few extra stops of DOF.....the lattice work of the wings really shines here...but for a bit of fall off....you are loking at f19 with the ISO of 800 and 1/125 sec, or f22 at 1/100........since the BG is light...noise won't be an issue...especially on the Mark lll....heck...I'd even push the ISO further with that color BG and save the SS. Still......very, very, nice and you are giving me some great ideas!

I love it and you leveled it perfectly - checked it on the notepad tester. Thanks for sharing.

I love the mantling pose and the excellent detail in the head.

Al, this is so cool!! I love the head on perspective and the way his back leg is grasping the stalk on the right side. It's almost otherworldly.

If you weren't a moderator/owner I'd have this in the IOTW so fast it would make your head spin! That face and head-on stare...wow! Beautiful light and BG, too.

So what's your secret for this smooth of a BG and an f/13 aperture? Is it the lens or were you a good distance from any visible vegetation?
