Nice image. I like the over all composition of this image. The inclusion of the feathers adds interest for me. The side light works for me here as with this head angle the face is well lit. I like the background with the two tones. I also like that you were able to keep the birds head completely in the green. I was wonder if a slightly higher angle which would have provide more separation might also have worked. Thanks for sharing.
Grace, This is beautiful-The reflection and the feathers really make this special. I agree w/ Phil's thoughts. This is the type of image I'd hang on my wall-Nicely done.
Hi Grace,
This is beautiful, the low angle, light and feathers are great, my only suggestion would be to crop some from the right about a 1 1/2'' to eliminate the tall feather.
This is unbelievable beautiful Grace. I like the two-tone BG and those feathers appear to have been placed, I know they weren't - they just looks so perfectly posed. Wonderful work.
Thanks for sharing. :)
With lots of feathers, I like it. Looks like early morning light but with the light from the right it seems to have increased the contrast. East Pond I assume? Have you forsaken Nickerson???

Thanks everyone. Artie, yes, East Pond, I forgot to say. There was only one flock of shorebirds and they were VERY skiddish, only landing briefly and not where I wanted them to, hence the poor light angle. It is a big crop. Trying to make lemons from lemonade, 120 miles and a 4:30 alarm, this was the only shorebird image I created this am. Haven't abandoned Nickerson, just checking out some other locations as well.
I told you I loved this one... The feathers are a brilliant comp, really good thinking ! Hopefully we will have more cooperative birds over the next few weeks.
