I took this image in Yellowstone NP. I know this is tight. I added Topaz Clean 2 .

Nice image Denise. Been wanting to get back there for a few years now. Hopefully soon.

I would personally suggest cropping more, given the image you have. I took off the top and the left side.

    However, Your image your vision.

Hi Denise, I like how you composed the image with a small bit off the top. Mark kicked the color up which to my eye is appealing either way...

Our monitors must be different, Dave? The only change I made was to crop the top and left side slighly. Just to clarify for all. I see them the same color on my monitor.

Not a problem, just a clarification. If you see otherwise, one of us needs to do a calibration! ;) :D

Mark, I see a distinct difference. My monitor is calibrated but lets see what others say. HOLD THE PHONE...I checked with a friend of mine and he didn't see much difference in color on his monitor and now Cindy responded and said she did. Not sure this has to do with calibration....not sure why at all.....

I like both versions, but I agree with Dave. The bison in Mark's version is a richer, red tone than the original.

Hi guys, I see a color change also it appears more red-it has too much pink in the dirt for me. I'm sure this has something to do with the ICC profiles and the way they render on different monitors-here's a link to firefox's 3.5 release provided by Dave Phillips

BTW-I agree w/ a slice off the top! That was my immediate thought after posting-funny I never see the image clearly till it gets put in the smaller size??!!

+1 on the color shift. Pretty big difference Mark. Regardless of how the absolute color is rendered, you should be able to see a difference between the two on the same page.

For two more cents worth, I agree with a little bit off the top, but not the left. That's a pretty big backside... :D

this is an excellent example of why I am always complaining about posting in a non sRGB colorsapce.
Mark's is reposted in ADOBE RGB, which only firefox(if color managed) and safari can interpret correctly(afaik)

nice work on the image Denise....and the tighter crop does no harm at all....either way

I like the original, color looks OK, but I am not familiar with the area/species. Love the pose and you are lucky. One of my dreams is to photograph the European Bison.

I have FF 3.5.2 so does it mean my color profiles will be OK?

No problem Dave, just wanted to clarify. I still see it the same on my monitor, but ... as noted, it wasn't an intentional adjustment and must be in the conversion and interpetation, as I like her image with the border. Just removed the border in the process of an alternate crop option. Que Sera! :( ;)

Ákos I believe there is a color change, in Denise's image, from the bison that I know ... up close and personal! ;) But I did not comment on that, as I believe it is part of her artistic rendering. I would say it is slightly more intense than in nature, for the bison I've seen and shot (photographed that is!). ;)
