This 3-week old Piping Plover chick was preening, stretching and exercising its wings. I was lucky to make the image as the wings were raised. Hope you like it.

Crop, BG evened out a little and sharpened. The eye was lightened a little. I'm having quite some trouble controlling colour in my work flow right now so I hope that isn't way off.

    John:

I like it. Love how it shows the transition from chick down to adult feathers. Great wing position, color looks good to me, nice DOF. I might consider pulling down the mid tones just a bit, but that of course depends on how this little guy looked to you in person.

    Thanks for sharing.

Cute little guy. Overall a nice image. Feels a bit bright to me. I'd consider bringing the entire image down a bit in overall exposure.

Exposure wise it's excellent. I am not sure of colors as I never saw this species. Looks fabuolous with the raised wings. :) Thanks for sharing.

too good this is.. superb exposure. dont know bout the square framing as personally i dont like it but for this image it goes fine as the entire attention is been grab by the bird moment.

The exposure looks good to me, and love the raised wings. This is sharp and I like the overall detail. I feel this needs a slight CW rotation.

John, Really nice exposure and the details in the wings are a treat to see so closely. I like the pose and the BG is lovely. Well done.

Thanks everyone and sorry to be so long to get back (I had a wedding to shoot this weekend!).

Consensus is that the image is overall too bright. I'll work on it.
