This Red Tail has been in the neighborhood for a couple of years. I thought about cloning out the excrement, but I think it kind of fits the attitude. Olympus E-510, Vivitar/Kiron 75-205 with a doubler.

    Erik:

Attractive bird, nice head angle, good eye contact.

Your point of focus seems to be on the tail, as the shoulder and head are pretty soft. I think the overall image quality suffered a bit from the doubler.

The sky seems a bit oversaturated for me. I also might try a slightly looser crop below if possible, so the tail has a bit more room.

Hopefully he will let you get in a bit closer in the future.

Thanks Randy, using a legacy lens was a challenge, and this was the best of many attempts. I will try to be more stealthy in the future!

    Erik:

If he tends to land on the same perch all the time, you might be able to get into a closer position and wait for him to land. If you can get near the perch in a car, they usually tolerate parked cars pretty well, makes for a nice mobile blind.

    Keep working it!

Nice turn around and eye contact, sharpness isn't there.

You got some great tips Erik. :) Put them to good use and let's see your next images. Nice eye contact, though a bit tight. :) Thanks for sharing.
