    At Bosque when the temp dips in the low single digits cranes will fold their legs into the body for conserving heat Don't get to see that often !!!! Image just posted to show behavior, not particularly good but a keeper in my book !! Note the low ISO needed for the camera in use.

    looks like a big honking goose!!! that is cool, literally, behaviour!!!!! never seen one like this.

    Hi Al:
    You may say, "not particularly good", but I think it's a keeper in anyone's book . . . . Looks to me like the photo may have been taken in the good light just after Sunrise?

    As usual another gem of nature's way that constanly shows me how smart birds are.

    Now that's a look for a sandhill that I haven't ever seen before. Guess it just doesn't get cold enough down here in Florida. Way to keep you eyes open and looking for the unique opportunity Al.
