Is this working?

What do you think? Is this working as is, with the busy BG and cropped bottom of the perch?
Or it would be better to clone out all the "disturbing" elements?

Would be tough cloning out all disturbing elements Best to blur some of them Main point here is the light anlge, light is coming fro the left and right side of bird in shadows. Also the shooting angle is a bit steep On the good side you did make a fine exposure and obtained a sharp image, meal is a plus !!!

Fill flahs might have helped but without any tech info can't really tell Best to include !!!

Hi Adrian,
The light angle here is your biggest enemy...agree With Mr. Forns...in addition to the fine advise given, I would crop just a tad from the top of the frame...looking forward to your next one...:cool:

HI adrian...I agree with Al about a crop at the top. You might try a Gaussian blur on the background and lighten the eye. The colors and sharpness are nice! Don't forget to list tech data

I totally agree about the light, but I liked the pose, and....I couldn't "behave myself"...

Beautiful bird. I found the branches across the bottom distacting. If you crop/clone them out, seems to give a sense of a better angle, also.:)
