Captured last year but not only processed now.
I like to occasionally go back to my archives and find images that have not been processed.
I have many raw files that still require attention. Just wish for time.

In addition to the fellas above, I'd remove the crap from the rock. :D That looks crappy. ;) Lovely sharp pose and the head contrasts well enough with the plumage so that separation of it and the wing is not crucial. Thanks for sharing mate. :)

Thais is very interesting moment to capture, Whilst I dot particularly like the "crap", it is totally natural. Most regular bird perches are covered in it, I cannot understand the fuss about this sort of thing.

Superb one, Loved the wing position and the take of pose.. A very personal choice would be to clone off the OOF rock, touching the tail to give a more suspended feel.. still a lovely Image..congrats...

Amazingly sharp Dave, and I like the subdued light in this. It has helped with your exposure. I only wish for the left wing to have been higher to separate the head from the wing. Killer BG, and well timed for the take off.

Great timing to capture the lift-off. Super background. Exposure and sharpness also look good.
I'm with Ken regarding the crap. Do we really always need to go over every perch with a digital scrubbing brush?

I wonder how many other unprocessed treasures you have archived, Dave.

The fuss about this sort of thing is from the fact that most us are trying to make art out of bird photography. We want the most pleasing birds, with the most pleasing settings we can possibly have. While I would have no problem leaving a bunch of guano on cliffs form years of accumulation of nesting colonies, leaving a single streak of "crap" on an otherwise spotless perch (which doesn't lead to viewer to think it is a regular perch continually being "crapped" on anyhow) does not leave a strong artistic impression on an otherwise almost pefect image.

Dave, great wing position you got here...great timing on your part to capture the perfect moment. I love the BG, and the perch looks good too...except I would do a little clean-up on it (a ten second patch tool job should do the trick) ;-)

Wonderful to have this sort of quality lurking un-processed Dave. This is very, very nice. Like it.

Great shot, Dave. I like the sharpness, wing and head positions, and the vulture's expression gives me the creeps! The rock anchors the bird in space and adds scale. I would not remove poop from the rock. Thanks for sharing this.

The perch with poop gone looks much better...and it doesn't look any less natural :-)
