I left the image full frame as I quite enjoy seeing the perspective of the mountains in the bg and the morning light falling on the subject.

Ryan sorry I only saw your post after I posted my image. I should have posted something different.
I like the wider view here but would like to see the bird a bit less central and a bit further away from the top of the mountain BG.

Love the mountains in the BG--perfectly positioned.
I'm not familiar with the species, so I don't know if the wings should be that dark, quite a bit of contrast from the morning light.
I know the centering rule here, but I don't have a problem with it.
Nice to see the 400 2.8 on bif--outstanding.

Agreed that the Vulture is a little centered. Perhaps if you'd crop above in line with the left peak, that would off center it and also keep the gorgeous blue sky? What do you think mate? Awesome light. I am loving your BOP images!

Thanks for the comments, I quite liked the positioning as it still gave room in front of the bird, but I see what you are saying, maybe something more like this?

Ryan, after seeing your repost, it just works so well with regards to placement in the frame. Super wingspan, and have always enjoyed the colours from the BG's in these images. Well captured.

Well done. I much prefer a crop from the bottom (with a bit off the lect), as here. I balanced the color removing a blue cast esp. from the mountains.

While I like the image and you made the best image possible from where you stood, this one lacks the impact of some of the other images from this location featuring the snazzier species.

    Thanks for the comments...

Artie, the removal of the blue cast looks much better, also looks less contrasty which helps. I have to agree that the lammergeier is the star of the show, but these Cape vultures also need some exposure;) Thanks for the advise...

Excellent flight angle and I like the OOF mountains. The reposts looks great and the comp works well.
