He walked into the sunset that evening, never even cared to look at my camera....not even once. I would pay anything to read his/their mind....to read what they think of us, the species that has taken them to the verge of extinction from the wild. A conservative estimate puts them at anywhere between 1000-1400.

He was built bigger than the biggest of humans I've seen, The Hulk/The Rock :-) , yet, he remained so humble...all throughout our encounter, without caring for the 100's of humans gathered religiously around him....he just didn't care !!!!

A true filmstar / Simba of the Indian Jungles, imo.

    Techs: 1dmk2, 300 2.8 Is with 2x, ISO 400, 1/800.

    Thx,

    Kiran

Very nice Kiran. Be nice to have some eye contact as mentioned, and just rubs in how insignificant we are to them. Like your comp and framing.

A lovely image, I'd just love to see one of these in the wild let alone care about eye contact. Looks like a wonderful golden evening. Had he just come out of the water, his underside looks wet?

    Debbie, Hi,
Yes, he was sitting/rolling in the mud/creek cooling off all afternoon. It was pretty hot out there during the Indian summer (May'09).

    Hey Kiran,
This would be off the charts if he looked at you because of the openess and wonderful light. Still very nice.
