I like the comp here Karl! The way the OOF BG and FG emphasize the bird is very pleasing. Your lighting is also very well done, especially on that eye. I would have liked to see the bird's head a little bit higher but am OK as is.

I like the walking pose, setting and light and wish for a bit more head turn towards you. Maybe a bit more room at the bottom for the 'virtual legs'?

The compo and sharpness are excellent ! I agree with Axel for the "virtual legs".

You'd have not mentioned and I'd have guessed it was flies ;) The details give no doubts !

Its a sharp and beautiful picture. I liked the virtual feet here but definitely would like to see the complete feathers.

great exposure and sharpness! I'm also for more room at the bottom, and overall I would have liked to see more of the physical legs themselves. :)

    Thank you all.
I fully agree with the "virtual legs"
This was the very first shot.
The subsequent shots have more room at the bottom but this has the best pose and oreground/background.
I was wondering if I could try to add some canvas to the bottom.

Beautiful and very pleasing image indeed, i feel a little more sharpening of the features would add to the image...

This is Really Beautiful ... The Clarity is Wonderful and I love how the foreground is merging with the background leaving only the crane if focus and it stands out so well against the contrasting green !! Brilliant !!

Stunning light Karl, and I like the warm colours. Super pose, sharp, and I like the BG too. Another vote for more space at the bottom.

beautiful image. loved the BG and the colors. If the bird is focussed on something, then I dont mind this head angle at all. A little sharpening of the bird will definitely help.

I love the beautiful light and the gorgeous background. Crop is a little tight in my opinion.

Interesting angle.. going uphill? I think cloning of some the OOF grass to create a gap below the tail would add to the image. Nice exposure and sharpness!
