I caught the kite in the upper right of the frame and decided to crop out the less sharp wings and tail. Shot today at about 10 AM. Hope you like it.

This is wonderful close up action! Love the details on the feet and the wide open beak (guess it is calling).

Amazing calling pose, and great details throughout - I particularly like the talons. IMO cropping more at right to get rid of the open area between wing and edge of frame would nicely anchor the comp in ULC. Well done, and good call on the EC :-)

I considered that crop and felt that some sky to the right expressed more of a felling of flight. Thanks for expressing your opinion.

Killer! I love the prey, the open beak, and the light. IMO the original crop is fine.

Great image Gene. Love the close view and those talons look awesome! I also wonder about cropping the space from behind. Your image, your call. :) Thanks for sharing.

I'm sure if I was a raptor I would be embarrassed to be restricted to hunting snails- a dirty job but someone's got to do it! I like the shot, it looks like the bird is making out that it's a Peregrine and has just brought down a bird at 200kph.

Super close up, and love the light, detail and colours in this. His next meal, a bonus, especially wrapped in the talons.
