I like the wing flap, angle, BG and sharpness. I wish I would have had light like this. :) If it were mine I might remove what looks like whitewash on the rock.

Fantastic stuff Chas, I would not change a thing. Particularly like the head back pose with flap and the nice details in blacks and whites.

    Good Shooting!

Killer light Charles. Love the pose and color tones. I find the eye a little hard to make out in the darkness. Not sure if it is possible to lighten it? Wonderful work! :)

Magical light and lovely pose. It works for me perfectly. I would also try to remove the whitewash if it was mine. Congratulations for this great image.

Love the light, exposure, sharpness and pose.

Axel's comment regarding the whitewash is one which comes up time and again (not just from Axel and not picking on him). I think this boils down to what you want the image to represent or to whom you're selling it.

If it were to be sold as a print as art then I'd clone it out. For a record environmental shot, I'd personally leave it in.

    Jim,

Could not agree more. Nature is not a sterile environment, although many try to illustrate it as such. Present the image as you see fit, and to thine own self be true.

    Best Regards,

    Chas

Love the vertical, the gorgeous BG, the pose which shows both wings in a good position, the rock and of course the Light! If anything I wish for the rock not to go OOF towards the left side of the frame. Otherwise pretty much excellent!

Charles, I like everything about this picture... The action, the light, the composition... I only think I don't like, it's not mine...
