I got this image last evening photographing with fellow BPN members Doug Brown, Tom Kilroy and David Powell. What a blast! We had as much action here as we had in Costa Rica! We photographed Broadtails, Rufous, Black Chinned and Calliope hummers. I am not sure which bird this is. Maybe a female Rufous? C & C are welcome....Thanks...

Love the slightly open beak! That is great. The colors and detail you captured are great. Looks like some nice PS work. Big congrats on a nice image.

    Hi Kristin,
Boy, it looks like you nailed this one - exposure, sharpness, BG (and I also look for more room on top). It is a beautiful image of the hummer!
Since you used 5 flashes, did you have to clone out some extra catchlights in the eye?

    Ron,
Yes I did. I had one extra catchlight on the bottom that I cloned out. Thanks for looking....

Nice shot, but seem too tight.

Hi Kristin....Nice shot! Love the sharpness and angle of the bird. Too bad about tightness at the top. Did you shoot any verticals?

Sadly no verticals. I see now the issue with the lack of canvas, particularly at the top.

Adding canvas at the top of this image would be extremely easy with the tones in the background.....

Here's a repost with some extra canvas on top and on the right (thanks to Doug Brown for his help). How do you like this?
