The Tyrants are a constant presence in my yard, they walk around in the grass looking for bugs.

Great timing, I love the belly colors, subject/BG well separated, I'd crop a bit from the bottom and also lower the sat. on the foreground to avoid competing with the bird.

Great bird to have in the backyard. I like the light, sharpness, eye contact and the bug adds to it. I wish for a slightly higher angle to see the legs better and might reduce the yellow saturation a tiny bit.

Good timing with bug and all. The foreground is not flattering. I would be tempted to crop from shoulder up for a portrait style composition. :)

Great shot Adams. Agree with toning down FG and higher angle! You'll nail one soon! :)

Hi Adams, Nice backyard bird and nice image. What is the BKGR? Is getting higher an option?

Lastly, the eye could use some work. Darkening the pupil and lightening the iris just a bit would increase the apparent SH.

Like the bird and the insect certainly adds to it.

the foreground however blocking out not only the feet but diffusing into the tail section deters....especially since you have sharp blades of grass on the left and totally OOF foreground on the right.

I never thought I'd here anyone comment that they wanted a higher angle on this site :)

    Hi Artie,
The BKGR are mountains, My yard slopes down and sometimes even at a higher angle i am not able to see the feet. But since they are a constant presence here i will have more chances to get the almost perfect shot.

Thanks Adams. I know that you could not get high enough to see the feet (without a helicopter). High enough to see the whole tail would be great.

There are lots of times when a bit higher is better than lower.
