    Default Backyard Fun

I spent another great evening at my friend's house (yes there was a little wine involved again :D). This time I broke out my multiple flash setup. Not sure what kind of hummer this is, but I like the pose.

    Canon 50D, 400mm, f/18, 1/250, ISO 200, manual exposure, 5 flashes, hand held

I am sick!!!! Brilliant Doug. I like the different angle to this, as mostly the images are catured with the HB hovering upwards towards their flowers. ( nothing wrong with that. ) I like the slightly "tilted" hover in this. Apart from that, amazing sharp, and love the white ends of the tail feathers. Congrats on a fine image.

Stunning image, Doug. Great detail and colors. May I ask if you ran any noise reduction on the background? It looks super clean and smooth.

Yes Grace, I did run NR on the BG. One round of Noise Ninja.

One of the best in-flight images I have ever seen, really spectacular. I would just do a bit of work on the BG to get this perfect...congrats

I like the natural look of this photo. Seems to me that so many flashed hummingbirds are overdone. The wine is working.

Doesn't get much better than this for in flight capture, as others have said.
    Superb Doug.

    Cheers

It doesn’t get much sweeter Doug. I’d like to know how you froze the wings at that shutter speed. Anything in the teaching forms on the subject?
