I feel dumb not being at f4.
natural light, hand held resting on fence post,
    slight crop.

Backlighting gave this image a nice look imo, I hope no one wishes for a catchlight!! I do think the head turn on the right hand bird could have been better, but it is what it is.

Taken this evening while out shooting with my good friend
Karl Egressy, we sure had a good time with these birds.
    Thanks Karl!

Also, special thanks to Clement Francis, Ashley Hockenberry, and Jon Brierley for the most recent articles on NIOM.. link below., we now have 37 writers, and some familiar faces from BPN with some excellent contributions.

Looks like you and Karl had fun with these birds...like the photo a presented..if it were mine I'd probably rotate clockwise a bit...shows nice interaction between these two...

    Looks good Ray.
I am not sure whether the bright spots above the left bird's head are insects, and in between the two, but I'd clean those up perhaps. Not sure what you think. I like the soft light and it works for me as is. I can see why Paul suggested a CW rotation.

Lovely, lovely shot Ray! Like this. Has a good feel to it. Lovely light too, and leaving the insects adds some realism.

Super comp, and I like the light in this. Both birds are sharp, and I agree to give this a CW rotation. Maybe toning down the grass a bit would work.
