    Default Skimmer Feeding

I shot this image in Long Island sitting next to the infamous Grace Scalzo:p:D. I did a poster effect and a color-efex bi-color filter on it. Did some clean-up cloning. It's a bit tight -esp. for me but I did like the way it looked.
Sorry I didn't get a chance to work on any reflection images yet.

I will post some images from my trip to Maine as soon as I get them all downloaded :D

Hi Denise, Nice interaction between the two and good wing position. Not easy getting this shot due to all the groundcover. Well done!

Denise: Great subject matter, subtle background colors, well chosen filters(not overdone) and good sharp edges where they are important. Good job! regards~Bill

looks really nice and I like the gradient. Super behavior catch, congrats.

For "my" taste a bit more color separation of skimmer would be an enhancement.
And maybe not.....here is a suggested alternative to look at. Still room on the highlight
side without blowing. I white balanced the scene a bit and up saturated the green a tad.

we can still do pp repost within the thread I assume

Denise, a lovely, lovely moment captured. Never had the opportunity to see this species. Both versions work very well and I really love the bird on the right with beak open sticking out of the grasses waiting for a meal.

Nice capture Denise, I think the repost by Dave gives it a bit more punch. Nice black and whites.

Excellent composition, Denise. The base image itself is excellent. Love the way you have captured the interaction and then enhanced with pp.
