Great to see this specie! I like the bright yellow of the bird against this dark background. to me this kind of contrast help to put all our attention on the bird. If this where my image, I will had remove the two green spot in the background! Thank for sharing it with the story!

    Artie:

Fine exposure on this fellow. Interesting perch, sharp.

I would leave the green background spots, but perhaps burn the left one in a bit.

The eye looks just a bit dull to me, perhaps a smidge more contrast?

Shooting angle a bit steep, but there were probably background constraints controlling that .

    Thanks for sharing!

Great to see this sub-species here.
I love to see the brownish cap and streaking.
Now that's what yellows are supposed to look like. :)
All the details on a yellow bird are fantastic.
It is great that you posted the work on BAA.
That blue filter method is priceless.

    Can't wait for more!

Artie, wonderful capture and beautiful bird. The yellows are outstanding and great job on the PP. The green in the BG doesn't bother me but maybe tone down the legs a little as they look a little shiny. The perch looks tasty, what is it?
    Congrats

Thanks for sharing your story Artie, and outstanding PP work too. You are a wealth of knowledge, and we appreciate your time and input on sharing your knowledge with us. Great job on the yellows, and I too wonder what the perch is made of.

Wonderful capture. The fruit preach adds to the image.
Artie, I wonder if eliminating the OOF green blotch on the top right would be less distracting?

Hi Sree. Lots of folks have asked about the two green blotches. I actually like both of them. Without them, the image would be too sterile (for me).
