Great capture! Now If you could just get 2 salmon mating in the air, it would be the perfect "Roman" shot.

I am amazed that you managed to "freeze" the action as well as you did, considering the relatively low speed you used.
You must have bought a good 100-400?

Great capture Roman. Fantastic timing and I really like the way the bear is looking at the salmon.

    Roman,
Enjoyed the view. Loved the moment captured. It is timed well. I think this frame may be even better than one with a fish in mouth, as this tells us about its intent. Good stuff. Look forward to more.

    Cheers,

You guys and girls with your bear images are killing me. A well balanced comp, great timing to capture the salmon, and love the expression of the bear. Well captured Roman.

Great job Roman. The position of the salmon and the look on the bear's face are priceless. I'm going with you next time!

The fish is killer sharp and your timing was great. And the EXP and COMP are perfect. I am however, with Peter on the bear. It looks way weird, too light (?) and greatly lacking sharp detail... I suspect that when you get home you will repost a far superior job.

    Roman,

Sweet timing, indeed. The image is lacking in fine detail, except where the eye was selectivley sharpened?
Having been there I know it is difficult to choose an area to lock focus, bear or fish. Do you go for the bear and manitain in-camera comp waiting for the fish to jump, or shoot loose and crop the image later. No easy decision, especially with limited DOF on overcast days. I think this one missed the mark.

    Best,

    Chas

    Thanks all,
Will check the focus point now that I'm home. Nothing done to eye except a bit of selective sharpening. This bear is quite blonde but will recheck today!

Well, I looked at your second post first so this may be biased. In this one the fish is wonderfully sharp, but the bear is not. It does focus (pun intended) attention on the plight of the fish, but to my eye I would prefer the bear sharper.
