We have had quite a few new birds at our feeder this year. This one came yesterday. It is not the best image as cooperation was not its strong suit!!

Gail and I think it is a juvenile Rose Breasted Grosbeak. We had an adult come by earlier in the year so this makes sense to us.

What do you think? Is it a juvie R B Grosbeak?

    Hi,

Yes - looks like a juv. or 1st summer male R B Grosbeak. A vagrant (in N Y) Black-headed Grosbeak would likely have much less streaking on the breast.
