Default a perch with a Mourning Dove on it

    1D M2n, 600mm, ISO 320, F 5.0, 1/800.. Full Frame

Shooting at a feeder in a public area, during a light snowfall, I ended up being rather fond of this image.

    Happy Shooting!

lovely soft light captured here Brandon - Perhaps the camera lowered a little to give more space under the tail and a little cropped off the top would have improved composition. Cropping right side to just before the upper branch also strengthens the image for me.

Like the wintery feel to this one. I can see why you like it. The perch does seem to overwhelm the bird somewhat.

I like the mood in this one even though the dove is well-camouflaged. I would put the bird a bit higher in the frame as the tail is very close to the edge.

I would suggest a crop from the left and the top and a bit more dof to sharpen up the branch coming at us. I too like the mood and the good job that you did with the head turn.

    later and love, artie

ps: John's suggestion to have pointed the camera down a bit is an excellent one; you would have been able to have the lower edge of the branch enter the frame from the corner...

Such a pretty composition with the falling snow and beautiful pose with a nice head turn. I too love the mood of this image and the suggested cropping would strengthen this already lovely image. Thanks for sharing Brandon,
