excellent eye contact there... beautiful and sharp... Was this against harsh light.. i would pull the highlights back slightly...

    Is this full frame?

A good catch, I like the BG and wings position.
It seems like the focus is placed on the closer wing,
Eye and neck looks oversharpened on my monitor.

This is so sharp and crisp Chris, I like a lot. Nice dark BG and good colour.
Bird looks to be flying a tad down, could be just the water that gives it that feeling, but I would think of a slight anti clockwise rotation?

    Thanks for the comments.
Bibhav this were normal morning 8:05 am light conditions and I crop 30% of the original.
Yep Dave it does seem to fly down, looking at the tail it is diving down for landing but I'm not to sure about this myself.
I did a repost and it does look better flying straight :)

I like the re post. You did a good job controlling the whites and nice eye contact. I wish the wings were either all the way up or down. Congrats.

Great stuff Chris, was this at 400mm or pulled back some to a shorter length? Reason I ask is, this is wonderfully sharp, which this lens sometimes strugles with shot wide open and the longest zoom. You really nailed this one, I love everything about it.

    Good Shooting!

I like the different colours on the wing feathers Chris, and your repost works much better. Stands out nicely against the darker BG. Well done.

Pretty cool! I do agree with the wing position though...I would prefer it either straight up or down.

Wow! Wicked good flight image. Killer wing position and SH. I love both versions. Try a small crop from the bottom so that the room above and below is equal....
