    Default Shore bird help?!

Seen a few of these a few miles from home along southern Massachusetts coastline. Anybody have any ideas? I'm torn between Semipalmated Sandpiper, White-rumped or Bairds' Sandpiper. All these listed migrate through here but think they are a little early. Thanks for looking.

Looks like a sanderling to me.

Thanks Axel, Now I see it. This must be the in between Breeding-non-breeding plumage. Hopefully I'll see them tomorrow if conditions allow. It was real foggy by the shore and this is the worst summer that I can remember.

Agree - Sanderling, - adults molting from alternate (or breeding) plumage into basic (or non-breeding) plumage. The front bird is a bit farther advanced than the rear one. Sanderling molt very early, and by the time most people see them on migration, they are already in basic plumage, and look very white.
