    Default Downtown Black-crowned Night Heron

I went to a city nearby and spent two hours in a city park, located only five minutes from downtown.
There is a tiny island off limit to humans ( and probably predetors) where Green Heron and BCNH nest and GBHE hangs out.
This is one of the shots, I like.

This is very nice Karl. Has lovely details and a nice splash of light on the lower body. In an ideal world be nice on the head but I just gotta be kidding myself there! :). Not sure if the eye is suffering from "red eye" as honestly don't know what it should look like, just feel it's normally black there. There is a tiny straight line top left that looks kinda out of place, but can say for free I'd like this very much too. Nice shot, and thanks for sharing. (and your kind words.. very humbling, :)). Cheers Dave

Hi Karl. Great pose, eye contact, and BG. I like the use of fill flash, but I would have gone for a bit more flash here; the bird could be a little brighter. I would darken the pupil. And I might remove the twig pointing down to the right. Thanks for sharing.

a beauty Karl. looks like sweet light on the lower portion of the bird. Too bad that it did not extend all the way up.

A little crop from left and a darker pupil would make this lovely image even better. Great pose, light, BG, detail, colors and BG.
    Congratulaitons!
