Very nice eye contact and pose. Love the fact his leg is up. Did he know you were there, he looks awfully comfortable. Super sharp and great job on exposure. I might tone down the brighter spots on the perch and the semi-circle touching his lower left side. The OOF leaves to his left are distracting and I'd clone them out. Congrats

Interesting pose, I like. Good detail and eye contact. Ditto the light spot behind him.

Good use of the side/back lighting. Lots of nice detail here. I would crop some from top to remove the brightest spot near top/middle of frame.

    Good Shooting!

Very nice bird, great clean noiseless look, I like the colors a lot.
I might be wrong but it feels that it needs just a bit CW rotation (1-2 degree).
Did you try to brighten the RH side of the head (shadows/highlight slide?)
The green branches on the right are bit unbalanced in the comp, I'd try tighter crop
    here too, might work better.
I like the back feathers, they don't distract IMO.
The pose with raised leg is great, I like it.

Nice pose, comp, ambient, BG, light, and species. I wouls try a bit more saturation and to get rid of the soft highlight right behind the bird. Also, brightening the shadowed eye might help.
    Congratulaitons!

    Rick:

You have gotten some very good advice. I used these ideas and did a quick repost. The original is a very nice image, and I think with application of the advice on the raw file, you can get an outstanding image.

    well worth a redo.

    Cheers

    Randy
