Hi Duane. Perfect perch and great wing position. DOF and sharpness are excellent. If only the bird were pointed towards you a bit. A little more canvas at the top of the frame would make the bird feel slightly less cramped in the frame IMO.

I echo Doug's comments. Nice and sharp though!

Suggestions above are correct. I will add that I like the color and detail.

I love the pose and chiseled light angle. The bird facing us may not have yielded such a view of the wing IMO.
In a perfect world, he would have turned the head towards you, but I'd take as is anytime :)

I absolutely love all the colors on these juveniles. Sure the head angle is a minus but the colors, wing position and perch make this a still wonderful image. Congrats.

Very well timed, and what a brilliant posture. Sharp with great detail, and wish for a slightly better angle. I hope you have a few of him leaving the perch.

Besides the above.. I think it looks like it should be a sculpture or
a very good wood carving.. Fun pose.

Very interesting pose pity about the HA.
Ditto Fabs, I would be very proud of a shot like this and would love to have it in my gallery.

Thank you for the critiques..mainly how tight it feels. Unfortunately, it flew away from me and down so this is the only frame (4 total) I was happy with.

Like the 'about to launch' pose. Yes, a more parallel angle would have been ideal, but its not always possible to get the desired angle! I'd be very happy if this very mine.

Excellent detail, colors, pose, perch, exposure, sharpness and timing, I only wish for a better head angle.
    Congratulations!
