    hey Gary
    Looks like you handled the harsh light well. (judging from the shadow). i like the comp very much. Was trying to work out different ways to crop tighter, but I kinda like it as is. Great colors! Maybe retouch the light stem above the shoulder and the light speck near the left edge in line with the bill

    I like the comp including the shadow. Nice pose, light and ambient. I would crop a bit more from top and bottom though.

    I like the strong shadow on the green water. Pose and sharpness are just right. I would clean up the light spots on the water and agree with the suggestion to crop a little off the top and bottom. I might tone down the legs just a bit.

    Great handling of the light. I agree about toning down the legs. I am not sure about the shadow. I guess it's a matter of personal opinion. I love the detail in the heron and the eye just pops on my monitor.
