    Default Stare Down

This young Cooper's Hawk is one of my cooperative neighborhood birds. The light was quite low.

That title says it all!! EXP, details and composition all work for me. I was going to say I wished for the head raised slightly but then decided I liked the "stern reproach" feel the way it is. Congrats!

Love the sharpness of it's eyes and feathers. Is that a twig in his beak, or a feather? Or a leftover bone fragment of one HIS "cooperative" neighborhood songbirds! He does look like he is stalking.

Thanks, Glenda! I'm not entirely sure what is in the beak, I thought grass, Akos thought some piece of tendon. He only looked down to see where he should take a bath.

How is that stare. Those eyes are piercing. You have achieved excellent sharpness around the head, and captured good detail and colours too. Congrats on a fine image.

What a look, wish you were a bit lower.
Great sharpness (1/125 wel done), I like the light, exposure and colors.
I would open the frame a bit, upward and left.

    Hey Axel!
Nice stare indeed! Love those gorgeous eyes. I do prefer your previously posted image of this sequence. In this image it looks as if that were dry grass. Maybe it is the light angle when compared to the other image.
    Thanks for sharing.

Nice plumage and glad that you found one that was not shy. Not the case most times.

Yes, the title says it all. Like the piercing look. I would like to see the full bird.
