This is my first try at a new subject for me: dead leaves. Somewhat surprisingly, I've discovered there are very interesting compositions to be found in dead leaves :). Please let me know what your opinions are on this and any ideas you might have for improvement.

    f4.5 @ 1/100, ISO 100, -0.7 EV
    Aperture priority mode, pattern metering
Processed in PS CS2; curves adjustment, channel mixer, hue/saturation layer, and gradient map

I just worked on a dead leaves image the other night, Christopher! I like what you've done here - I, too, found the sepia treatment really brings out the crispness and detail in the leaves. As for your comp, I don't really like the OOF leaf in the LRC so I'd crop right above it - that way the entire image is crisp. It also gets rid of the very dark areas at the bottom of the frame.

Just think...another two months and we'll have plenty of opportunities to do this again!

Thanks Julie. At this point, I can hardly wait for fall when there will be lots of dead leaves to photograph! I'll try recropping this to remove that OOF leaf.
