Default Lots of these at Viera

I went over to Viera this am and was met with a closed to car traffic chain on the gate:(. I walked a bit, but had not brought my buggy to carry things in so got a few images and came home. Beware for those travelling far to Viera, it has come under new management and is not kept up as well, so they close the roads to cars at the slightest hint of rain. It is getting very busy with activity, egrets, greenies, least bitterns and of course these BBWD's. The BBWD's chicks have been seen. I hope to get back next weekend, but have my buggy with me. This was taken with my D300 and Nikon 70-300VR, f/7.1, 1/1000, iso 640. I would like to get better, but this is my first in flight image of these birds.

Wing position and eye contact look good. I would sharpen the bird more and wish he were flying towards you.

Great first flight image of one of these guys! Congratulations on that. Nice light, pose, detail, and exposure, it could go a TAD darker IMo and it could use a little bit more of sharpening.
    Congratulaitons!

I additon to the excellent stuff above I would add that I love the light and the raised wing position.

Ditto above, and the form of the bird makes an interesting side view IMO.

Well exposed on the underwing, and agree to sharpen this a bit more.
