European Bee-eater (Merops apiaster), Ondřej Prosický | NaturePhoto.cz, Canon EOS 1D Mark III, Canon EF 500mm f/4 L IS USM, Gitzo, from hide, f/7.1, 1/1250 s, ISO: 500, -1/3 EV, July 11, 2009 146:21, Púchov (Slovakia)
Very good job capturing this guy against such a busy but interesting background Ondrej. the head turn, eye contact and wing´s pose are killers and the dragonfly is a big additional bonus to an excellent image. Very well done and keep them coming :-)
Capital, Ondrej! Beautiful species and the perfect HA w/prey. Some might say the BG is too busy, but it is what it is. You don't wait for a better BG at a moment like this, obviously!
That is not easy, very well done.
The dragonfly and the sharpness makes it a winner for me.
Not the usual BG but it works well in this one.
I might crop a bit of the left and add some to the right.
Good head turn, sharp eye and the dragonfly is a big bonus. What I like most about this image is arc sharp like wing spread, I really like it. An excellent image. I do like the interesting background, only wish that the OOF right wing doesn't blend in too much with the background.
