Beautiful shot of a beautiful species. I like the light and the colors of the bird and the sky. Great head turn.
I wish the twig in front of the bird wasn't there.

Beautiful colored bird, beak and eyes. Love it and ditto on the stick.
    The viewfinder is my guidance.

    Hi Ken

I wish all the feral pigeons that flock into my back garden were this colour. Beautiful and unusual looking bird. I think the stick across the front is distracting and the background blue would probably benefit from a bit of noise reduction.

    Cheers

Wow, that is a nice pigeon! I agree about the OOT branch. I love the color balance between the intense blue of the sky and the bright green in the plumage that, by the way, I find with very few details. Perhaps due to cropping or to something you did in the processing job. The eye color matching the BG is a nice bonus. From a composition point of view, the image needs more room at the bottom and less at the right, IMO of course :-)

I wish the Central Park Pigeons looked like this!!!. Wonderful color and BG. The perch is a bit distracting. Also the bird, except the eye, seems a tad soft. May just be my monitor.

I agree with Juan's comments and would aslo like to add that light angle was not idea, also, maybe a few steps back would have given you a slightly better angle.
Congratulaitons on a nice image if a terrific looking bird.

    Ramon,

Not wishing to become Crocodile food I did not take the few steps.

I just edited the video taken by my wife and this shows the constantly changing light from water reflection, so perhaps this had an effect.

I too am bemused by the "lack of detail" in the feathers.
