Default Male Snail Kite @ ISO 3200

This is the same perch from Fabiola's image, except the male uses this perch with fewer people present, and before the sun comes up over the vegetation to the East. Image was captured at 65am. Noise reduction was not used as it robbed the Kite's feathers of all detail and the background was clean. Cropped to vertical.

    Nikon D3, 500mm lens, 1.4X TC, 1/1000@f5.6, ISO 3200 FF -2/3

Thanks for looking a suggestions always welcome.

Pretty good for the high ISO. Nice wing position, BG, and prey item. I might try lightening the black tal feathers if it does not introduce to much noise.

Cool pose and the breakfast adds to it. I find the frame a bit large and if it does not introduce noise, might sharpen the bird a little more.

Removed the frame and extra sharpening as per Axel's recommendation

very nice Hugh, I agree the black frame was too dominant., the second edition is well done.

Quite a nice wing spread, and great iso performance. Not much noise that I can see.

Hi Hugh, since you like frames - I do too - why not use just a 1 or 2 pixel frame to set the image off from the website color. As soon as I learn how to do a frame - teach me! - I will put a 1 or 2 frame pixel around my images too.
    Cheers, Jay

I like the repost better specially because you didn't clipped the perch. Great pose and timing here.
    Congratulaitons!

Hey Hugh, This one looks like a painting. That is good. I would prefer one closer to the original than to the repost. The pose is amazing as was your timing. My only wish is that there were enough room to our right for the pine bough plus a small border.... The light is beautiful and so is the image.

Ah, I just noticed that you had the whole bough in the repost. Well done. It needs just a fraction more room.
