Not the most glamorous bird, but still one of my favorites down here. I do wish I had a little more DOF. Too centered? I have room to work with on both sides.

Dan, Very nice subtle image and I really like it. Beautiful exposure and love that bright eye. Very sharp and nice BG. I might take a little off the bottom and add some room on the left side. That's all. Congrats
I guess with those yellow eyes it is fancy indeed. Lovely image. Smooth reflection, nice bg, perfect sharpness and head turn makes this one of my favs.
Lovely! The angle of image capture is very nice. The pose of the head is pleasing. In my opinion the slight look down that introduces a diagonal help make this image work. I also like the transition from gold background to light foreground. If it were mine I might try cropping a bit off the bottom. Thanks for sharing.
How much lower do you want to go. Perfect angle, and I love the pose. Lovely large eye, and I like the colours of the water. I would maybe take a bit off the RHS.
This image reminds me that I just lost a yellow button off my shirt!
I love this. Super species (that we don't see here), in beautiful light, with a great reflection and BG. I agree that a bit off the bottom would be an option.
Quite a stunning eye! A slight crop at right is an option, but I don't mind the centered comp. I would actually crop it a little tighter right, top and bottom. I love the downward pointing bill...but I wish it would have turned its head towards you a few degrees more. Still very appealing!!
That eye makes it pretty special. I will take a more radical stance on the crop. Although I really like reflections, to me, they are most effective when almost perfect. When wave action starts to distort them a bit, as here, it doesn't add nearly as much to the picture.
So, I offer this pretty tight crop. If I had it, I would then add back in a bit more space to the left.
I like it a lot as presented, just an alternative view on the crop.
I certainly agree that my crop is a bit tight, but if you have the material to add to the left a bit, I think it would work. When cropping a reflection, I prefer to cut off the head completely, rather than have the bottom of it creeping in at the bottom of frame. Per Artie: Cut, don't clip.
