What with all of the exotic and fabulous bird and images posted, I with some trepidation, am posting
a lbb - mostly ignored, but I think quite beautiful in her own way; a female house finch.

    Terry:

    I like them all!

She is well exposed, nice head angle, good detail in feathers.

I think your focus might have been on the back, as the primaries and tail feathers are sharper to me than the head. I might try toning down the greenery a bit, esp. the two tallest bits, as they compete with here for your eyes attention. I think that also makes the balance of the image off a bit, with too much 'weight' on the right hand side. A bit more noise reduction on the background might help as well.

Did you bring up the exposure at conversion? Because I see a lot of noise in the darks in the BG not consistent with ISO 400.
I like the composition and agree in toning down the greens. She is beautiful :)

Light was harsh but the angle of it was nice, great pose and interesting perch, it works for me, BG could use some serious NR. Congratulaitons!

Great suggestions, and improvements! Thanks - this is always a learning experience for me.
Fabs, the exposure was not changed during conversion. Randy, I think the dof got in the way of overall focus.
I am sure it was on the back, but if I had focused on the head, the back and tail feathers would have suffered. I could have stopped down a bit to improve the depth of field.

Terry, I like your bird. I played with cropping the RHS and it centered the bird too much. Enjoyable image.

Not exotic? Around here they are (sadly) being replaced by house sparrows. I agree with whats been said, she's a very pretty lady. Congrats.
