Great look at this tiger, Sabyasachi! I like the soft reflection from the water, and the tongue action. The long grasses behind make a nice frame. I might wish for a little more room on the left, but beautiful as is.

Very nice action captured, in soft light. Composition works for me as presented.

Lovely capture. I don't know that I have seen photo of a tiger in the water before, but this screams very hot and sultry to me.

Good shot, sharp. Wouldn't this image break the rule of thirds...the eye/head being the center of focus here ? Placing the Tiger in the top of the frame and including more water..and space to the left..would make this a good composition.

Nicely composed. The higher grasses on the ends with the little opening in the middle frame the tiger well. The hint of reflection and head turn provide a nice finishing touch.

    Kiran,
I create lot of compositions that are not according to rule of thirds. However, in this case, can you tell us why you feel this image is not according to Rule of Thirds. I didn't include more space to the left as the tiger had turned its head. Having said that, more space to the left would work as well.

    Peter,
It was around 6 am in the morning. It was not hot. The tigress drank and then cooled off for sometime. They don't have sweat glands in the body and need to cool off.

Cindy, Fabs, John, Kiran, David, Steve,
Thanks for your comments and suggestions. It is appreciated.

    Cheers,
    Sabyasachi

If there are any rules then they should not apply when taking pictures of Tigers this is a very good image. Yes it might be improved in some ways but not many, just be thankful of the opportunity to see it. Personally I love it.
