I liked the light in this. Taken in the Pilanesberg nature reserve. The BG is an OOF mountain.

    Hey Stu,

I really like this image, good light, perch, detail, HA and BG, you get the feeling that he is searching for prey. If anything I would maybe take a bit off the right. Super image...

Cool one Bro.. loved the intense look of the bird, great BG, perch and details..

I would try a tighter crop with a little less space on the left and bottom. just a personal taste..

    great image nevertheless. congrats..

Well done! I like the pose and comp. The bg is superb. Nice perch too. I wish we could see it's feet and that the image was presented larger.

I like the pose, sharpness, perch and BG. I might lighten the shadows on the perch and would go for a more vertical crop. Maybe something like this.

Many cropping possibilities have been mentioned, but I accept what you have decided on.

Axel's looks better, great BG, pose, detail, perch and comp. I would suggest to darken the pupil.
    Congratulations!

Thank you all for your great feedback and suggestions.

Axel, you repost works well. Thanks to you too. On the RHS, Im never sure how much space to leave, and my thoughts on the LHS, was to leave space to look into. Im guessing a little tighter, works better than loose space. Cheers.

Agree Axel's crop works better, but I would have argued the same as you on the LHS Stu. Bird is well exposed against a great BG. Well done!
