    Default California Sunbounce Micro Mini

Just saw a video and some results of this interesting and portable device.

For shooting macros out in the field and other static objects for that matter where a softer light is desired, this looks like it could be a nice tool provided you shoot with wireless flash.

Thanks Mike Might also be good for macro along with a diffuser ... then I just need to find several assistants :)

Alfred, the unit can be attached to small tripod or you can handhold it while triggering camera remotely.

I love the idea of getting reflected light onto the object rather than direct flash .. interesting idea.

    Mike,

I have circular reflectors that I use. I don't have them here at the moment, but for field use of flowers or small areas they are perfect. The open with a snap of the filter than close in a "figure 8" twist. The small one is about 18" and the larger one is about 30". They have a loop on the storage bag that you can put on your belt, etc. to carry them and are basically weightless. You can hold them with one hand and shoot with the other, or use a cable release with the camera on tripod which I prefer to do. Unless you have a pack team to carry the other, it looks pretty big to me. Don't know why you need that big of a reflector, except for maybe commercial product work.

Checking B&H they have a similar system (Impact 5 in 1 portable reflectors), to what I have, in 22" ($29.95) 32" ($44.95) and 42" ($59.95) (price from prior catalog so it might be slightly different now).

If your looking for lighting macro for flowers etc. I can highly recommend this type of system for portability and ease of use. Easy to move around the subject to get the best lighting, with or without flash.
