    Default Sun at my back...

Sunrise at Wako. This beauty actually landed close enough for a full frame (image slightly cropped for composition) standing portrait with nice environmental BG. I layed down on the boardwalk for a better angle. Problem; Sun at this beauties back. I still like the feel of the morning light (including soft shadows in front and rim light on back). I do have one with more of a head turn but it loses that hairdo (which I like). Does it work for you?

David, this works for me very well. I like the soft light and pose. Only suggestion would be to blend the sharp shadow line on the Snowy's shoulder.

Beautiful Snowy and great pose. One of my favorite birds. I love photographing these. Light not ideal but works great as is. Dont fight what you don't have is my motto. Get the image and wait for a better one. Great habitat background also.

Light angle is not my favorite, still, the ambient and feel of this one is very nice. BG works for me.
    Congratulations!
