Excellent portrait Ken in typical shrubb. Shows off their feeding behavior well. EDIT. My apologies Ken for not doing this justice with my comments. (Was at work and the screen is crap so was unable to view sufficiently well enough to assess your presentation properly). Viewing it agin, I feel it needs some tlc on the processing as some chroma noise evident and some contrast boost needed. Having said that, at 1600 it's not bad for the 11n.

Agree with Dave, I love that you used ISO 1600 on the mk2n...lovely image of this extremely rare animal. Hope to see one in the wild soon.

Very nicely framed by the vegetation, a pop in the midtones would improve it.

    Ken,
I would never dream of using the 1600 ISO in my 1DII. Nice behaviour. The vegetation nicely frames the head.

    Cheers,

The reason for the high ISO is simple it was very early in the morning, I was on foot hiding behind a hut and popping out every now and again. I agree about the noise but have been unable to remove it satisfactorily.

    Thanks for the comments
