    Default Cooper's Hawk

At least I think it is a juvenile cooper's. This is one of three siblings who discovered a puddle on a flat roof at my place. They come to play, bath and drink. It's fun to watch when they run around like chicken and play tag. :) I liked the blade of grass this one was playing with.

That's a really great portrait Axel. Sorry, I know nothing about your BOPs so I cannot comment. However, I thought it was feeding as that blade of grass in the bill appears to me more like a bloodied piece of tendon or something similar. Great BG and fabulous pose. :) Is this HH?

Axel great portrait, agree about Cooper's, Sharp-shinned has more round and warm brown streaking on the breast, Cooper's is thin, line forming and dark brown. I didn't know they play with grass, or play at all to begin with, interesting.

Thanks, Ákos! It looked like dried grass but who knows. This was 'half handheld', I put the hood on the window frame and used the curtain as blind.

This picture is very sharp and well focussed.
I personally feel to have the bird till the belly bottom as it brings a nice S curve, in that respect I would have included more of the bird unless I am just focussing on the facial region.

Amazingly sharp, and what incredible detail and colours captured in this. The blade of grass looks like a worm, but you were there. Great image.

    Great looking raptor.
Love the combination of green and brown. The blade of grass adds to it. Congrats.
