Just another mundane WFD. This could be a bit tight in the frame for some but it is 90% full frame, just cropped a bit on the left and below for comp. The angle of flight could be a bit more towards the camera but I like the IQ here.

Hi Dave, you nailed this one. As you said, good IQ, sharp, and well exposed on the face. I like the wing position. I would have liked to have seen a bit more of the take off splash.

Appears as if it were just a smidgen angled away from you. Still great pose and lovely light. I would prefer a slightly better HA. THanks for sharing. Love the water drops and Stu's comment is good for me too about seeing more in the LLC. :)

HA and angle of flight noted. Super detail and exposure on the bird. Difficult bird to expose for, but you have done well retaining detail in the blacks and whites. Would like to see this a bit wider with more of the splash, but I know how close these guys fly.

Very nice flight pose, great detail. Love the water drops. I could imagine a bit wider crop, but very nice as it is. Congratulations.

    HI Dave,
Slight angle away already mentioned. I would add back the canvas.....even for me who likes tight crops as the splas would definitely add.

Nice pose, light, and detail, I wish for a little more DOF, but I like the comp, BG, and colors.
    Congratulations!

As you said super IQ captured here, It is always good to get the subject big in the viewfinder and still get the shot even if it does mess the comp up a bit...congrats

Excellent detail and colours Dave. Ditto super IQ. Mix feeling about the comp I would add a bit of canvas to the front.

Fabulous IQ and sharpness Dave. Have mixed feelings on comp too as would like more room in front and a bit more of the LLC, but also wish to congratulate you on getting this image at this size in the frame. Well done!
