Two mornings ago, I came across a male and female Aus. Magpie (actually a Butcherbird, Cracticus tibicen) in my front yard as I was already running late for work thanks to BPN (priorities ;) )
I started to imitate their calls, and this female hopped on my 7-foot tall brick fence and allowed me to practically touch her, well almost. So in I went to get the camera. This is one I was happy with out of 50 images in about five minutes. Perfect light behind me at 08:00, a stunning winter morning in western Sydney.
30D, 300/4 + 1.4tc, ISO400, f/8, 1/250th, HH, FF 0EC. I know, the bill tip. Didn't want to drop SS more. PErhaps upping the ISO, but I love 400 now.
