Default Virginia Rail on the run.

Same individual as my previous post. This guy stood still for a couple of seconds and was looking towards our left. I had it composed nicely with the rule of thirds with lots of space in front of it. Just as I pressed the shutter he darted that way but turned its head towards our right. I was left with a comp that was too tight in front of the bill and lots of open space behind. I basically added canvas and took the space at left and dumped it at right using a large brush clone tool. I then used the patch tool to eliminate the "seam". A bit more PP manipulation than I usually do, but I liked the pose so much...so why not "save" it!! The blurred foot gives it a sense of "sudden movement":)

Canon 40D + 100-400L @235mm, aperture priority, evaluative metering, 1/250s., f/7.1, ISO 800, +0.7 EC, natural light, handheld, audio used.

Daniel this one is stunning! Love the blurred foot and HA, He looks like a running back jooking the defense. The BG is great and I never would of known you added canvas. Congrats.

pretty amazing detail for that amount of movement @ 1/250 sec., cool shot, but the "cut grass" doesn't provide a good environment imo.

    Daniel:
Very nicely done, the pose makes it special. Nice post processing work as well.

    Cheers

That pose is very funny, the blurred foot works for me as the rest is so sharp, nice low angle, light, pose, comp, detail, BG and colors. Congratulations!

Very cool capture and story. The clone job is superior. Didn't notice anything.

Hi Dan, how much do you pay your "model" rails to pose for you. Super low angle, and the pose says it it all. I like the softer light in this, and pin sharp. I would like to know if a slightly darker BG would work.

I'm looking at it and if you didn't tell us I would never have guessed that there's major cloning job here.
    Again, great work.
